Tribe, and county mourn the passing of Commissioner Claire Hall

January 9, 2026

It’s with great sadness that we recognize the life and legacy of Lincoln County Commissioner Claire Hall, and the unfinished work she leaves behind. Her leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Hall, whose more than two decades of service to our county, are marked by her extraordinary dedication to the unsheltered, unhoused, expanded healthcare access, and steadfast advocacy for veterans. During her tenure, she helped establish many federally qualified health centers and championed warming shelters, and increased services for vulnerable and community members. A shared common ground with Commissioner Hall, was the service to our veterans. Hall advocated for increased veteran services and easier access to those services. This included the newly constructed veterans living complex in Toledo, Ore.

The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, sends our deepest condolences to the family and close friends of Commissioner Hall. She was a great and valued partner in shared regional efforts. Her memory will go on, in the trail she blazed for the broader community
